A 2019 review reports plant-based with fresh vegetables has major benefits for physical health and disease.

Having more raw vegetables will let you absorb plenty of nutrients. As Consuming a variety of these foods will supply an abundance of vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and protein. Also, cooking eliminates certain nutrients, like water-soluble vitamins B and C, consuming vegetables raw provides a higher quantity of these.

There are also benefits of reduced consumption of processed foods, weight loss, more energy, clearer skin and better digestion. What more can you ask for?

What is the right sauce?

When someone thinks about eating a salad, it tends to be the image of a dry and unappetising bowl of vegetables but the right sauce can actually elevate it! Salad dressings are quite simple to create at home, and figuring out how to make your favourite dressing in your own home is a very beneficial skill to have. It will save you a lot of money.

You also have total power over the ingredients. Have you ever gone down the salad dressing section and read the list of ingredients? There are a few healthier choices available, but most of those of them are loaded with artificial colours and flavours, as well as more sugar and salt than is required. What you need to remember is that dressings should not be too heavy and should be bright, bringing the fresh flavour of vegetables forward.

Some of them include cilantro lime, balsamic vinegar, honey mustard and so much more.

Here’s a tahini miso recipe that is super easy and tasty to make for most salads!

Ingredients

  • 60ml of tahini
  • Only 1 single tablespoon miso
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • May need 1-4 tablespoons water

In a mid-sized mixing bowl, incorporate all of the ingredients, pouring the water in small amounts until the appropriate thickness/thinness desired. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve as desired. Based on just how much water is added, it should serve 4–6 people.
